Kotani-ji Temple is located at the foot of Mt. Kotani and is known as a temple of the Asai family. It is said that Oichi and the three sisters often visited the temple. The temple was destroyed by fire during the fall of the Kotani Castle, except for the main image, which was later rebuilt by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. The statue of Nyoirin Kannon and the Mandala of the Two Realms are designated as cultural assets by Nagahama City. An event called "Honzon Gokaicho" is held every year in November.
