Along the Takatoki River, there is a quiet, uninhabited temple. This temple has a standing statue of the eleven-faced Kannon, a nationally designated important cultural property, which is made of a single piece of camphor tree. This standing image of the Kannon is the one referred to as the village maiden Kannon-san in Yasushi Inoue's "Hoshi to Matsuri" (The Star and the Festival), and has a neat yet flowing manner.
