The main deity of Hogonji Temple is Benzaiten (Sarasvati), and together with Enoshima and Itsukushima, it is known as Sanbenzaiten (Three Benzaiten Temples). Hogonji Kannon-do Hall is the 30th temple of the 33 sacred places of the Kannon Sacred Shrine in the western part of Japan, and is still visited by many people. The Karamon Gate, a national treasure, is the only remaining structure from Osaka Castle that was relocated from the Gokurakumon Gate of Osaka Castle. Many other treasures can also be viewed in the Treasure House.
