Yogokogen Resort Yap is located in Shiga Prefecture and is a ski resort accessible in about two hours from Osaka or Nagoya. The resort is located at an altitude of 740 to 540 meters above sea level and offers five courses. These courses are divided into 30% for beginner skiers, 50% for intermediate skiers, and 20% for advanced skiers. Ski and snowboard rentals are also available, with ski sets for adults costing 4,500 yen and children 3,500 yen. Lift fees start at 4,200 yen for adults, 1,500 yen for children, and 3,700 yen for seniors on weekdays. Facilities include showers, a sleeping area, changing rooms, luggage storage, a kids' park, and a day care center, and parking for 1,200 cars is available (free on weekdays, 1,000 yen on holidays). Also nearby is the Kitahomi Resort Kitahomi no Yu, where visitors can get a discount on the bathing fee by showing their lift ticket. It will be open from December 15, 2023 to late March 2024, and closed on January 9 and 10 for equipment maintenance. To get there, take a 30-minute cab ride from Kinomoto Station on the Hokuriku Line by train, or a 90-minute drive from the Kyoto-Higashi Interchange via the Meishin Expressway.
