Tadakoji Temple

The temple at the foot of Mt. Tamura is a temple of the Myoshinji school of the Rinzai sect of Zen Buddhism, founded by Genken in the late Heian period. Originally a member of the Tendai sect, it now belongs to the Rinzai sect. The temple is home to the seated statue of Yakushi Nyorai, a nationally important cultural property. The following is information about the temple. - The temple does not accept individual visitors. - On the opening day (Hatsuyakushi) of the temple on February 8, 2020, the Buddhist memorial service is held for 30 minutes from 14:00 to 14:30, and the public is welcome to view the Yakushi Nyorai statue. - For groups such as travel agencies, this can be arranged depending on the availability of the priest.
