The statue enshrined in the Daishi Hall is said to be a portrait of Dengyo Daishi (Saicho), the founder of the Tendai sect of Buddhism, and is thought to represent Jiei Daishi Ryogen (Genzo Daishi), the founder of the Hieizan sect of Buddhism. Visitors are required to make an appointment in advance to view the temple.
