A large hall stands next to the Hachimangu Shrine. This hall was originally a jinguji temple of Hachimangu Shrine, but was damaged by military fires in the Genki and Tensho periods. However, it was rebuilt under the protection of Lord Hideyoshi. Due to the abolition of Buddhism in the Meiji era (1868-1912), the six monks except for Shana-in were abolished and the treasures, including the principal image of Aizenmyoo and Yakushi Nyorai, were moved to Shana-in. The doors of the former Diet building were used for the main hall of this temple. Also, from early August through September, the entire grounds of the temple are covered with hibiscuses in full bloom.
