The interior of the white-walled Nagahama Castle, restored in 1983, is open to the public as a history museum. This museum exhibits the history and culture of the Kohoku region and Nagahama, and features a video presentation of the Hikiyama Festival and other events. There is also a panoramic observation deck on the fifth floor, from which visitors can enjoy a wonderful view of Lake Biwa and the city.
