At an elevation of 1,132 meters, Yokoyama offers a wide variety of trails, including a mountain stream course with a view of the beautiful Sutra Falls and Gochoshi Falls, and the East Ridge Course through a natural beech forest. Hikers can enjoy seasonal scenery such as katakuri (dogtooth violet), ichirinso and nirinso in early spring, yamaboshi in early summer, and maple leaves in autumn. Chikubu Island on Lake Biwa can also be seen from the summit of the mountain. The opening of the mountain is held on the third Sunday of May every year, but this is subject to change due to snow accumulation.
